You’ve Got the Power

“The night is far spent, the day is at hand.  Therefore, let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light….put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.” Romans 13:12, 14

Do you understand the power of what God has given us?!  It just hit me this morning.  “Let us put on the armor of light.”  We read in 1 John that “God is light and in Him is no darkness at all (1:5).  Not one ounce of darkness or deceit or sin is found in our God- He is light, pure light.

And no matter how hard light tries to hide, it can’t.  It just is.  It dispels darkness with its presence.  Regardless if it wants to or not, light just naturally does.  And we have the opportunity each and every day to clothe ourselves with the armor of light!

That’s incredible power!  That means that wherever we go, if we “put on the Lord Jesus Christ,” we will dispel darkness-naturally. Period.

Imagine that you are the only source of light wherever God has you today- your home, your office, the classroom, the grocery store.  Imagine it’s dark when you walk in.  The people need to see.  They’re bruised and beaten and dying from the enemy’s blows, but they can’t see the way of escape or even the wretchedness of their condition.  My friend, YOU ARE LIGHT!  You walk in light- a child of God.  You have been chosen to carry light to this world.  Illuminate the darkness, and drive the enemy away with the light that he can’t stand!

YOU’VE GOT THE POWER!

“Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, ‘Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.  And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to death.” Revelation 12:10-11
